Delicious, hearty, with a hint of stout, this twist on the classic beer bread is super easy make! Great for deli sandwiches, it also toasts well and goes great with butter.
- 2 Cups Unbleached Organic Bread Flour
- 1 Cup Rolled Oats
- 1/3 Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 12 oz Guinness (or other premium stout)
Preheat oven to 425F
Combine all dry ingredients in bowl
Drink 2 oz out of your 14 oz Guinness can
Add Guinness to dry ingredients. Mix well into a batter, but not need to over-mix.
Add batter to small greased loaf pan. Sprinkle on some more oats (opt.)
Add to oven. Reduce temp to 400F.
Bake 35-55 minutes until done. (Use the "toothpick method"...stick one in and if it comes out completed dry, it's ready!
