The Freaki Tiki (now Franki T's) – Clearwater, Florida
John Taffer gives the owners a lesson in accountability. Jon Taffer and his crew came to Clearwater, Florida on this episode titled, “Getting Freaky at the Tiki.” In 2008, Frank Theriault and gave friend Shawn Trimpe a 2.5 percent stake in the business. After having an awesome first year, they brought in their friend Woody to manage the bar. Soon, the owners were acting more like frat boys than owners making Woody annoyed at giving away free drinks and drinking at the bar. Soon the lack of maintenance and disrepair in the bar gave customers no reason to return; not even the free drinks. Now losing $6,500 a month and in the hole for $500,000, Frank, Shawn and Woody agreed to open the doors, bust open the books and call for help from Jon Taffer and “Bar Rescue.”
BAR RESCUE: RECIPES
- 1oz. Key Lime Juice
- 0.5oz. Simple Syrup
- 1.5oz. Smirnoff® Cherry Vodka
- Top off with Soda Water
- Garnish with Lime and Cherry Boat
In a Mixing Glass combine the lime Juice, Simple Syrup and Cherry Vodka. Add a scoop of ice into a Shaker Tin and pour the mixture into the tin. Cap with the mixing glass and shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into a BarConic® Monument™ Glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime and cherry using a Bamboo Cocktail Pick.
- 0.75oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 0.75oz. Orgeat Syrup
- 0.75oz. Blue Curacao
- 1oz. Captain Morgan
- Garnish with Pineapple Wedge, Mint Sprig and Grated Nutmeg
In a Mixing Glass combine the lime Juice, Orgeat Syrup, Blue Curacao and Captain Morgan. Add a scoop of ice into a Shaker Tin and pour the mixture into the tin. Cap with the mixing glass and shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into a BarConic® Texan™ Glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime and cherry using a Bamboo Cocktail Pick.
